1. No minimum or maximum board of board breaks required.
2. Competitor has 3 attempts to break his or her boards
3. Competitors MUST purchase boards on Site to ensure fairness and sameness of material
4. Thickness will be determined by Age, Amount of station breaks and boards determined by the competitor.
5. Scoring
A. 1st consideration in scoring - Completion of Break
B. 2nd consideration in scoring - Degree of difficulty
C. 3rd consideration in scoring - Number of Breaks, Number of Boards in breaks, Appearance, Showmanship, Enthusiasm, Martial Arts Spirit
6. Wood is the only Material approved for DWKC events.
7. Any breaks that damage any person, equipment or property will result is a Disqualification. All breaking routines should be set up in a way to avoid flying boards from hitting spectators, judges, scoreboards or other facility property.
8. Scoring ranges for breaking are as follows
Beginner/Novice - 6.0 - 7.0
Intermediate - 7.0 - 8.0
Advanced - 8.0 - 9.0
Black belt 9.0 - 10
1. No weapon should be used in such a way that is causes damage to any person or property.
2. if a competitor uses a weapon in such a way, either intentional or not that causes damage to a person or property, will be disqualified from that division. if the bad act was intentional the competitor will be disqualified for the day and banned from all future DWKC events.
3. Once a division is staged there will be no further entries.
4. A competitor must perform their weapon/open hand kata to be eligible to place in the division, even if there is only one competitor in said division
.
5. SHARP weapons are not allowed under any circumstances, Bladed weapons are permitted but must be inspected by the center judge to check that the weapon is safe for use in the ring. Bladed weapons must be dulled to the point as they will not cut the Inspectors thumb or finger during a rub test of said weapon.
6. If an under belt competitor forgets their kata, they may ask to restart their kata at a .10-point deduction from each judge. Only 1 restart per competitor.
7. Black belts may not redo their kata
8. Scoring ranges for Weapons/Kata are as follows
Beginner/Novice - 6.0 - 7.0
Intermediate - 7.0 - 8.0
Advanced - 8.0 - 9.0
Black belt 9.0 - 10
